Gin Wallace is Executive Director of Beverly Main Streets | Beverly Arts District in downtown Beverly. Gin oversees all aspects of both programs, including economic development, marketing, programming, fundraising and outreach. In 2011, she led the initiative to create Downtown 2020, the strategic plan for revitalizing downtown Beverly which the organization follows to this day; it has resulted in near-zero vacancy rates, 400+ new housing units, public investment of $60M and private investment of $82M, new event programming, and many new creative businesses and locally-owned restaurants opening downtown. Gin has partnered with elected officials and business and community leaders on numerous projects, including the creation of the Arts District, new financial incentives programs to attract specialty retailers, the launch of our block parties and the complete transformation of the only public space on one of the main thoroughfares. She is humbled by the 100+ volunteers who help BMS | BAD do its work. Gin has an MBA from Boston University and an M.Ed. from Boston State/UMass Boston. She and her daughter, Sophie, live in Beverly.
Prior to starting at Beverly Main Streets in 2007, Gin worked as a management consultant and strategic planner for NCR, Sara Lee Corp, Gillette and Bank of Boston. She also taught special education for 3 years and spent a season working the gates (and letting friends in) for the NE Patriots and standing on the field after the games to (pretend) protect the players from their adoring fans.
